NHPC, India’s largest hydropower generation company, today announced that it has commissioned its 50 Megawatt (MW) wind power project (WPP) in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The project achieved synchronization with the national grid in the month of October, the company announced in a statement. NHPC has signed a power purchase agreement with Inox wind and Rajasthan government to set up 25 turbines of 2 MW for the project.
NHPC is engaged in the construction of 5 projects aggregating to a total installed capacity of 4290 MW including 1000 mw (Pakal Dul hydroelectric project) being executed through JV company.
Ten projects of 7,151 mw are awaiting clearances/ government approval for their implementation including three projects of 1,186 mw to be executed through subsidiary/joint venture companies.
