47th international film festival of India to be held in Goa in November

47th-international-film-festival internationalIncluding four feature and three non-feature films — have made the cut to be screened at the Indian Panorama of the 47th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa from November 20 to 29.The feature films that have been selected for the Indian Panorama are Nagraj Manjule’s blockbuster Sairat, Nana Patekar-starrer and Mahesh Majrekar-directed Natasamrat – asa nat hone naahi, Shekhar Sartandel-directed Ek Albella and Makrand Mane’s Ringan.

Three non-features will also be screened — Chaukat, a short drama directed by Umesh Mohan Bagade; Paywat by Mithun Chandra Choudhari; and Daaravtha by Nilesh Bombarde. The selection has been made from a submission of 38 feature and 22 non-feature Marathi films.

Mithun Chandra Choudhari, director of Paywat, said it will be his second stint at the IFFI as his short film ‘Compulsory Hell-Mate’ was also screened at the festival in 2011.Sourabh Prabhudesai, editor of Chaukat (A Frame), said that the selection of the film for IFFI was a dream come true for him and his team.
